Everyone can be a leader! It does not come with position or rank within an organisation, it is about the characteristics of individuals and is something that can be learned. Leadership is a skill set that is being actively sought from employers. Organisations want a workforce who understand how to make human connections, show compassion and empathy to their colleagues and build teams who are resilient under times of adversity.
Providing young people with leadership skills will enhance their maturity, teamwork, problem solving abilities and most importantly relationship skills. Getting young people to think what it means to be a leader and providing the training will make them more attractive to businesses and increase their employment opportunities.
We believe it’s not about business relationships vs personal relationships, there are only human relationships. Business is not different from life; it is a part of life. It is all about relationships. We have moved to being consciously aware of the biological needs of human beings and the early attachment styles that everyone of us brings to our adult life. We are biologically programmed for human connection.
We believe people want to be lead and not managed at work, therefore we as leaders need to be operating from a conscious awareness of the biological impact our behaviours have on others, especially in positions of power, within organisations.
