Congratulations to Carillion Modern Apprentice Mathew Lawson who has just moved into a full time employment position with Advance Construction Scotland. Mathew, from Bearsden, had only been on work placement with Advance for 5 months, but his commitment and willingness to learn led the contractor to make a decision and employ him on a full time basis. Mathew who will continue to undertake his General Construction Operations Modern Apprenticeship whilst in his new role is delighted to be given such an opportunity with one of Scotland's biggest contractors. Advance continue to support sustainable employment of TIGERS modern apprentices, who they initially engaged with through the TIGERS/Carillion Shared Apprenticeship Scheme, having now employed four apprentices over the last eight weeks.
TIGERS are please to announce that we will be hosting a 'Meet the Buyer' Event on behalf of Robertson Construction, the event will take place at our TIGERS/Carillion Joint Venture Construction Training centre in Huntershill Village, Bishopbriggs.
Roberston have released the following statement regarding the event.
"We will deliver a major new community sports facility in Bishopbriggs for East Dunbartonshire Council in partnership with EDLC (East Dunbartonshire Leisure & Culture Trust).
With construction due to start in April 2016, the facilities will include a brand new sports hub with an external courtyard and terrace, a six-lane running track, a 4G sports pitch, three tennis courts, track and field areas, and on-site parking.
The project will give rise to local training and employment prospects, both through the Tigers Training programme and in partnership with local schools and colleges.
