History of the TIGERS and Carillion Joint Venture

In 2008 Carillion Training Services and TIGERS created a joint venture to shape and prepare young persons for Modern Apprenticeship entry within the construction industry. In March 2014 we reached a significant milestone – the employment of our 500th apprentice since inception.

The scheme is built on a host employer model which ensures all apprentices will complete their MA Framework regardless of work and cash flow. The model relies heavily on the support of construction and related businesses who offer site work experience to assist in the assessment of the apprentice against the MA Framework. Scottish Water and their supply chain are a prime example of this support.

Over the years we have engaged with young persons from over the Central Belt of Scotland including Glasgow, Renfrewshire, Dunbartonshire and Lanarkshire.
