Inspiring Women in Leadership Mentorship Programme

Our Vision

Although we have made progress with equality, in our country, we still see, to this day, inequality at the highest levels of business, politics and executive roles for women across our country. Our vision is to become a country where opportunities for career development and leadership, within organisations, is awarded to the person best qualified to undertake the role and is not determined by gender or assumptions. We want all our children and young people to be able to fulfil their potential and achieve their aspirations and we look forward to a time when ambition in men and women is equally celebrated.

I WiL, mentoring programme, brings together a group of visionary and courageous leaders who wish to share their experiences and connect with young women. The programme will provide the mentees with an opportunity to benefit from the experiences of their mentor who will support them to navigate the adversities and challenges they may face and inspire them to reach their potential and have the ambition to become a future leader.

We were inspired to create this innovative programme when the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, announced her own mentorship programme in August 2017. We decided to take on the challenge laid down by the FM for more female leaders to follow her commitment and dedicate their time to create and support our female leaders of the future.

Through TIGERS business partnerships and connections we were able to create this eclectic group of women, across a variety of sectors, who all share the common goal of inspiring more young women to have the courage to achieve their aspirations and not view their gender as a barrier to meeting their full potential within their career.

The mentorship programme will be for 12 months and open to all women.

I WiL mentors will share their experiences, offer support and provide guidance to their mentees whilst putting relationships at the heart of their practice.
